November Bankruptcy Filings up 39% from 2007


The most recent bankruptcy statistics released today show that consumer bankruptcy filings in November 2008 were up 39% over November 2007.  There were 99,925 new consumer cases filed in November 2008.  This was a slight decrease from October when there were 106,266 cases filed.  Year-to-date in 2008 there have been 980,000 consumer bankruptcy cases filed.
