March Bankruptcy Filings Show Drastic Increase


Consumer bankruptcy filings increased in March by 41% over filings in March 2008 according to the American Bankruptcy Institute using data provided by the National Bankruptcy Research Center.  Filings increased by 24% over February 2009.  Consumer filings totaled 121,413 in March and 98,344 in February.
